Storylines :
We will trace the Zen Buddhist temples in Kyoto in the order of their founding and unravel the medieval history of Japan with the theme of the tradition of tea culture.
The original "The Essay of Tea" is a collection of essays about tea by Japan local historian Nakamura Manjiro. It consists of 3 parts, and the 2nd part contains the origin of Uji tea in Kyoto and an introduction to Zen Buddhist temples.
We will follow the cultural properties of the ancient capitals of Kyoto and Nara on a long trail with a "The Essay of Tea" in hand, and aim to form an image of Japan medieval history from the "accumulation and landscape of the best architecture and garden design of the material culture of pre-modern Japan" which is the source of their universal value, and aim for a high-quality time leap together.
